NNSA Splitting Up OST Support Services Contracts

By ExchangeMonitor
The National Nuclear Security Administration is splitting its Office of Secure Transportation support services contract into three parts to help boost small business interest in the contracts, the NNSA said last week. The current OST support services contract is held by New Mexico-based Innovative Technology Partnerships, but the follow-on contracts will be broken into five-year small business set-asides for Training Services, Administration Services, and Logistics. The $48 million Training Services requirement will be procured through the NNSA’s technical services blanket purchasing agreement, while the $12 million Administration Services work will go through the agency’s Administration BPA. The $38 million Logistics work will be procured through the General Services Administration’s Logistics Worldwide (LOGWORLD) schedule. “By separating the requirement into smaller pieces it will afford greater small business participation,” NNSA spokesman Derrick Robinson said in a statement.

Robinson said the NNSA expects to award the contracts by late January, with transition ending in February. NNSA Small Business Program Manager Greg Gonzales also last week that that a Request for Proposals for OST information technology services will be released in January or February. That contract is expected to be worth $50 million over five years.
