Anne Smith, who previously held public affairs roles with Safety and Ecology Corp., Perma-Fix Environmental, and – most recently — URS/CH2M Oak Ridge, has been named the communications director at North Wind Group.
The small business recently took over management of the Department of Energy’s Transuranic Waste Processing Center in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The company is based in Idaho Falls, but Smith will be located in the company’s Knoxville office.
North Wind was founded in 1997 and, since 2010, has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Cook Inlet Region Inc., an Alaska Native Corporation.
According to an announcement, Smith will be responsible for “representing the company within external community and public affairs networks as well as internal company-wide communications.”
