NSTec Seeking Drone Supplier, Design Information

By ExchangeMonitor

National Security Technologies (NSTec) is seeking information on the design and suppliers of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

NSTec, the management and operations contractor at the Nevada National Security Site, is particularly interested in heavy-lift fixed-winged vertical operating drone platforms, according to a request for information posted Monday.

The contractor is seeking drone designs that meet technical requirements such as, in one case, carrying a 15-pound payload on a 55-pound vehicle (including the payload) with a 20-3,000-foot operating altitude; and, in another case, carrying a 5-pound payload on a 20-pound vehicle with 20-1,000-foot operating altitude.

NSTec is also seeking information on potential drone suppliers, which should be domestic businesses with a minimum of five years of experience operating the UAS platform, and should provide documented evidence that its system meets Federal Aviation Administration standards, among other requirements.

Interested suppliers must submit capability information via email to Lori Richinson at RICHINLA@nv.doe.gov by noon on Aug. 9.
