Oklo has recently entered into two energy-based agreements that utilize its advanced nuclear Aurora powerhouse, one involves teaming up with an oilfield services company that was founded by now Energy Secretary Chris Wright.
The Santa Clara, Calif. based advanced nuclear company announced a strategic partnership with Liberty Energy, an oil-based services company headquartered in Denver, Colo., to accelerate integrated power solutions for large, high-demand customers, according to the company’s Wednesday press release.
The two companies said the deal will provide an integrated strategy to immediately meet power demand with Liberty Energy’s natural gas generation and load management tools while providing a pathway for Oklo’s advanced nuclear powerhouse.
Liberty Energy will provide the initial power generation with natural gas and when Oklo’s powerhouse comes online, it will be implemented and integrated into the power generation.
In Oklo’s second announcement, the company said it will collaborate with Vertiv, an international critical infrastructure headquartered in Westerville, Ohio, to focus on advanced power and thermal management solutions, specifically for hyperscale and data centers, according to its Tuesday press release.
Oklo will provide the steam and electricity for the hyperscale and data centers from its powerhouse, the company said. The pilot technology demonstration is planned for the initial Oklo Aurora powerhouse, according to the press release.
Oklo said the collaboration with Vertiv marks an important step in the company exploring how advanced nuclear energy could be used to support the evolving power and cooling needs of data centers and other high-growth sectors.
