PAUL HENRY TO SERVE AS ACTING LANL DEP. DIRECTOR

By ExchangeMonitor

Paul Henry, Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Principal Associate Director for Capital Projects, will serve as the lab’s acting Deputy Director with the sudden departure of Beth Sellers, NS&D Monitor has learned. Sellers, a Bechtel executive, abruptly resigned Friday in the wake of an ethics scandal, and will leave the lab at the end of this week, laboratory officials told NS&D Monitor. According to a draft Department of Energy Inspector General report, Sellers and her husband failed to notify lab officials of a potential conflict of interest before Sellers’ husband, a consultant to the lab, was awarded a sole-source contract. Sellers’ husband also billed the lab for work that he never performed, according to the report. Henry has headed up capital projects at the lab since 2011. He previously served as the manager of Bechtel’s work at the Pueblo Chemical Depot in Colorado.
