Pro2Serve becomes 100% employee-owned

Knoxville-based Professional Project Services (Pro2Serve) is now a 100% employee-owned company, the Department of Energy contractor said in a Monday news release.

In addition to reaching the 100% staff-owned milestone, through its Employee Stock Ownership Plan, Pro2Serve also announced some newly appointed board members.

Every employee can own a stake in Pro2Serve by participating in the company’s 401-K plan, the company said.

“This is an exciting time for Pro2Serve as we reach the completion of a process that started over 10 years ago,” Pro2Serve President and CEO Sherry Browder said in the release.

In addition to Browder, other members of the Pro2Serve board are Chair Jeff Salyers, former Pro2Serve president; Jimmy Stone, retired UT-Battelle chief operating officer. Continuing their service on the board are Gerald Boyd, former executive with Huntington Ingalls Industries after retiring as the Department of Energy Oak Ridge operations office manager, and Lloyd Caldwell, former Director of military programs for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Pro2Serve was founded in 1995. A Pro2Serve subsidiary has a $209-million contract to provide technical support services for the Portsmouth Paducah Project Office. The contract, which the subsidiary previously held, started in April 2025 and runs through January 2030, according to a DOE Environmental Management contract summary chartThe company has also done work for the National Nuclear Security Administration, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other agencies. The founder Barry Goss retired in 2021.
