Rep. Fleischmann Takes Helm at Congressional Nuclear Cleanup Caucus

Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-Tenn.) yesterday announced that he will be leading the Congressional Nuclear Cleanup Caucus and is looking to help the group grow. The caucus is comprised of lawmakers with Department of Energy cleanup sites in their districts has been led by Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Wash.), who is set to retire from Congress in January. Fleischmann yesterday emphasized that he is “passionate” about the topic. “One of the things I want to do with the caucus is facilitate nuclear cleanup nationwide. Obviously we have a very strong interest in it across our complex,” Fleischmann said yesterday during his an announcement. He added: “We are going to let it grow over time and I am solicitous of the input of our members. I really want to make sure that it becomes and active, aggressive caucus because it is so important to get this done.”
