Savannah River Site Schedules 2016 Public Tours

By ExchangeMonitor
The Savannah River Site in South Carolina has scheduled 22 public tours for 2016.

“Traveling within large and comfortable commercial buses, driving tours provide members of the public with an opportunity to see many of the historic and operational facilities at SRS that were responsible for the production of plutonium and tritium during the Cold War with the Soviet Union,” according to a Department of Energy press release.  “Tour participants also learn about the site’s current activities and future missions.”

More than 1,000 seats in total are available on a first-come, first-served basis for the tours, which run from January to December. Registration can be conducted online at www.srs.gov/general/tour/public.htm or by calling (803) 952-8994.
