The Senate Armed Services Committee is expected to vote today on the nomination of Madelyn Creedon to be the Principal Deputy Administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration, NW&M Monitor has learned. Creedon was nominated to the position late last year and appeared before the committee earlier this month. At the time, committee chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.) said the panel would move “quicker than the usual in the Senate these days” to clear the nomination of Creedon and two others, who are not considered to be controversial. The vote will take place at a hearing on military retirement at 9:30 a.m. if a quorum of committee members is present. Creedon, notably, was a longtime staffer on the Senate Armed Services Committee before moving to the Pentagon as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Global Strategic Affairs in 2011.
