Senate Expected to Vote on Creedon NNSA Nomination Today

By ExchangeMonitor

The Senate is expected to vote today on the nomination of Madelyn Creedon to be the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Principal Deputy Administrator, potentially ending a more than nine-month confirmation wait. Creedon was nominated to the position Nov. 7 but her nomination has been stalled in the Senate due to a partisan stalemate on nominees. Creedon served as the Deputy Administrator for Defense Programs at the NNSA from 2000 to 2001 and was the Associate Deputy Energy Secretary from 1995 to 1997. She most recently served as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Global Strategic Affairs, a position she took in 2011 after her third stint as a Democratic staffer on the Senate Armed Services Committee. Creedon would replace Neile Miller, who left the NNSA last year.
