SENATE PASSES SOUTH KOREA 123 AGREEMENT EXTENSION
The Senate passed a bill yesterday to allow a two-year extension of the current civil nuclear agreement with South Korea. The Administration has asked Congress pass a simple two-year extension of the deal, which expires in March, to allow for time to work out remaining issues including requirements related to enrichment and reprocessing. The House already approved an extension last fall, and the bill in Senate included a requirement for the Administration to provide Congress with a report on the progress of negotiations every 180 days.
