SOC Challenges DOE Contract Award

By ExchangeMonitor

SOC, a Day & Zimmermann security company, this week protested the Department of Energy’s recently-announced award of a $1-billion Savannah River Site security services award to a Securitas-led team.

The bid protest, dated Monday Feb. 22, matched the DOE solicitation number for the Security Services Contract at Savannah River awarded Feb. 12 to the SRS Critical Infrastructure Security led by Securitas CIS.

The SCIS team won the contract over two other teams, DOE said at the time. One of losing bidders is evidently led by incumbent Centerra, which earlier had challenged the DOE solicitation process to the Government Accountability Office.

SOC is listed in DOE online procurement records as one of the companies that participated in a March 2019 briefing and site tour about the contract that involves protecting people, buildings, nuclear material, secrets and computer systems at the federal complex along the Georgia-South Carolina state line.

SOC did not respond to an email seeking comment early this morning. A general phone number listed on the SOC website did not offer a voice mail option.
