South California Edison will host its first Community Engagement Panel meeting on March 25 to discuss the decommissioning process for its San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. SCE announced earlier this year that it would form the CEP as a way to engage local stakeholders in the decommissioning process, which the company plans to submit sometime in the early summer. “Public engagement is essential to our goal to decommission San Onofre in a transparent and inclusive way,” said SCE Vice President of Decommissioning Chris Thompson in a statement. The meeting agenda will include an overview of plans for the facility as well as a period dedicated to public comment.
