SOURCES SOUGHT RELEASED FOR BERKELEY OLD TOWN DEMO WORK

By ExchangeMonitor

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is seeking companies interested in demolition work at the Old Town area of the Lab, posting a sources sought notice yesterday. The University of California may set aside the contract for small businesses “if a sufficient number of small businesses are pre-qualified,” according to the sources sought notice. “This project includes the disconnection of utilities, abatement, demolition, soil remediation and site stabilization of multiple buildings and slabs within the Old Town Area of LBNL,” states the sources sought. “The Old Town area of LBNL is in close proximity to the vibration sensitive Advanced Light. Most buildings in Old Town were constructed during and post WWII as research and/or support facilities.” The work is expected to cost between $14 million and $19 million and take about 180 days. Responses are due April 7, and a site visit is scheduled for March 25. Last fall a notice sought companies interested in a separate procurement for engineering design work for the demo.
