While the federal government might reopen soon, a regular meeting of the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site (SRS) Citizens Advisory Board in South Carolina scheduled for next week has been called off.
The SRS Citizens Advisory Board was to meet next Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the new Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative center at the University of South Carolina-Aiken. The building is meant to provide a modern new off-site location for joint projects between the Savannah River National Laboratory and outside entities.
As of Tuesday, Nov. 11, the Nov. 18 meeting was listed as “cancelled” on the SRS advisory board meeting website.
The SRS advisory is one of eight Environmental Management Site-Specific Advisory Boards set up by DOE to provide the department with advice and recommendations on its cleanup mission. The full SRS board typically meets every two months.
