SSP Awards Lockheed Two Contract Modifications

Navy Strategic Systems Programs Friday awarded Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co. two contract modifications related to the procurement of Trident II (D5) missiles. One modification is worth $146.3 million and entails a fixed-price-incentive, cost-plus-incentive-fee and cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to a previously awarded un-priced letter contract for D5 life extension development and production and D5 deployed systems support. Work is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2019. The contract award could increase to $828.4 million. $76.5 million in Fiscal Year 2014 Navy weapons procurement funds, as well as $3.1 million in other procurement funds and $48.5 million in United Kingdom funds are being obligated on the award.

The second modification is worth $34.2 million and entails a cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to a contract previously awarded for the design, development and procurement of facilities, equipment and processes required for successful activation and support of a Trident II (D5) missile storage facility, along with the design and delivery of specialized support equipment for movement and storage of D5 missiles at Camp Navajo, Ariz. Work is expected to be completed Sept. 30, 2019.
