SSP Awards Teradyne $25M Contract to Support Trident 2 LEP

The Crane (Ind.) Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center has awarded Teradyne, Inc., of North Reading, Mass., a sole-source $25 million firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract for the purchase of Trident 2 D5 testers, spares, instrument calibration, software, cables, and engineering, technical, and factory support services, the Defense Department announced yesterday. The testers will support Navy Strategic Systems Programs’ missile, guidance, fire control, and navigation systems module test requirements for the D5 life extension program. Work is expected to complete by August 2019. $102,014 will be obligated at the time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. According to DoD’s announcement, Teradyne is the original source of the hardware and software associated with the “highly specialized” testers.
