SURA TO TEAM WITH AECOM ON BROOKHAVEN BID

By ExchangeMonitor

Southeastern Universities Research Association is planning to team with AECOM on a bid for Brookhaven National Laboratory, NS&D Monitor has learned. SURA and AECOM have kept their plans quiet, as neither companies were listed as attendees at an industry day for the procurement in January. The Department of Energy has refused to release a list of companies that attended a pre-proposal conference last month. Industry officials say that SURA is expected to lead the team, with AECOM providing operational experience. SURA has managed Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility with CSC Applied Technologies since 2006, while AECOM has a role on Nevada National Security Site contractor National Security Technologies and recently led a bid for the Paducah deactivation contract. On the Brookhaven contract, the team will compete against incumbent Brookhaven Science Associates, a partnership between Battelle and Stony Brook University.
