RSI EnTech, based in Oak Ridge, Tenn., has acquired Albuquerque-based Sigma Science, another well-known small contractor with the Department of Energy nuclear complex, the companies announced Friday.
RSI EnTech, which is part of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC) Industrial or AIS, an Alaska Native corporation, did not disclose the value of the transaction in the July 18 news release announcing the combination.
Sigma Science has been around for 30 years, serving federal and commercial customers with nuclear energy, security, and infrastructure modernization, according to the release.
“We are thrilled to officially welcome Sigma to the RSI and greater AIS family,” said Allison Getsi, RSI President in the joint press release. “The addition of Sigma strengthens our capabilities and client base to support national defense and energy initiatives across the nuclear industry,” Steve Ennis, the president and CEO of ASRC’s Industrial (AIS).
“Today marks a fresh start as we unite with RSI and AIS,” said Sigma President Gil Torres in the press release.
According to its website, Sigma Science has provided technical support services to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) clients at the Savannah River Site in South Carolina as well as the Y-12 Nuclear Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tenn. It has also done work for DOE’s Sandia National Laboratories as well as the DOE Office of Nuclear Energy.
RSI EnTech has done a variety of DOE nuclear work over the years for both the Office of Environmental Management and the Office of Legacy Management. Before 2018, RSI was previously known as Restoration Services.
