By ExchangeMonitor

Amentum-led United Cleanup Oak Ridge, which remediates the Department of Energy Site in Eastern Tennessee will continue to be closed Wednesday “due to inclement weather,” it said in a social media post.

“Workers should not report to locations during this closure,” the contractor said on the social media platform X. “However, workers who can telework are expected to do so.”

The Y-12 National Security Complex at Oak Ridge will be closed to “all but essential personnel” on Wednesday, managers there said on the same social media platform. The under-construction Uranium Processing Facility will open.

Meanwhile, Oak Ridge National Laboratory plans to reopen its campus at noon Eastern Time.

After snow in recent days, Oak Ridge, Tenn., has a “wind chill advisory” in effect until noon today, according to the National Weather Service. While today’s high will be around 27 degrees Fahrenheit, a cold wind will make it feel closer to 9 degrees this morning, according to the forecast.
