UCOR TO HOLD STAFF AUG KICKOFF MEETING TODAY

By ExchangeMonitor

Oak Ridge cleanup contractor UCOR is scheduled to hold a meeting today with the 10 companies it plans to award staff augmentation subcontracts. Today’s kickoff meeting will likely cover the contractor’s expectations on issues including pay and benefits for employees hired under the subcontracts, a topic that raised numerous questions in the subcontracting community when UCOR first posted its request for proposals. The small business subcontracts have a five year period of performance with a total not to exceed $45 million, and cover four areas: administrative and professional, technical, engineering and support, and waste management and transportation. While no awards have officially been made, the following companies have reportedly been notified by UCOR of its intent to award a subcontract:

  • Navarro Research and Engineering (Administrative and Professional, Technical, Engineering and Support)
  • Technical and Field Engineering (Waste Management, Engineering Support)
  • Value Added Solutions (Administrative and Professional, Engineering and Support)
  • S.A. Mays, with Permafix and DR&C, inc. (Waste Management)
  • DeNuke (Waste Management)
  • Edgewater
  • Strategic Resource Alliance
  • Turnkey Transportation Services
  • TOPS
  • Spectra Tech
