Veolia appoints new North American executive

Veolia said this week it has selected Nadège Petit as CEO of the North America Zone, effective Dec. 1.

Petit will join the group’s executive committee in a move to support Veolia’s expansion efforts in the United States.

Petit is a prominent international executive with much experience in energy, new technologies and business development, Veolia said in a Monday news release

Petit serves on the supervisory board for a branch of E.On, the European multinational electric utility company. For more than 20 years, she has held various management posts at Schneider Electric, helping oversee business development, sales, marketing as well as research and development, Veolia said.

In the United States, Veolia is a major private operator and technology provider in the water sector, as well as a leader in hazardous waste and pollution treatment, according to the press release.

Veolia also is a contractor and subcontractor for numerous Department of Energy contracts in the nuclear complex, including the Portsmouth Site in Ohio and the Hanford Site in Washington state.
