Michael Voce officially took over as the general manager for Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge security contractor National Strategic Protective Services yesterday, completing the transition from former general manager Greg McDowell. McDowell abruptly announced his resignation this summer due to personal reasons, but stayed on at the company during a transition to new leadership. Voce previously served as the president of Protection Strategies Incorporated, which has teamed with MELE on the National Nuclear Security Administration’s technical services blanket purchase agreement. An Army veteran, Voce also worked for 12 years as the director of training and the director of protective force operations for Wackenhut Services at the Nevada National Security Site as well as the company’s emergency management program coordinator and protective force supervisor and trainer at the site. NSPS provides security at DOE sites in Oak Ridge, including the East Tennessee Technology Park, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the Joe L. Evins Federal Building.
