The Congressional appropriations process is heating up, and by the end of this week, the Fiscal Year 2015 funding picture for the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Department of Energy’s cleanup program will become a lot clearer. The first of three key markups will take place this morning when Senate appropriators mark up their version of the Fiscal Year 2015 Energy and Water Appropriations Act. The Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee, led by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), will mark up the bill at 10 a.m. today in Room 192 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building, where Feinstein’s nuclear nonproliferation priorities are likely to be unveiled. On Wednesday at 10 a.m., the House Appropriations Committee will mark up its version of the bill in Room 2359 of the Rayburn House Office Building, and on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., the full Senate Appropriations Committee will take up the bill.
