Works Begins on Pantex Administrative Support Complex

By ExchangeMonitor

Construction of the Pantex Plant’s new Administrative Support Complex is underway, Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS) announced Thursday. The 343,000-square-foot complex will relocate employees from aging facilities and into new office space for approximately 1,100 employees – one-third of the workforce – at the nuclear weapons assembly and disassembly facility, CNS said.

The three-story complex will also include an auditorium, conference center, cafeteria, and health facilities, and construction is scheduled to take roughly two years, CNS said. The contractor previously noted that LawlerWood, LLC, is the company set to develop the facility.

CNS Deputy Enterprise Manager, Michelle Reichert said in the latest statement, “The ASC will allow us to consolidate administrative functions from over 35 legacy facilities at the Pantex site into one modern, energy efficient facility. This will allow us to take the resources that we’ve being dedicating to those older facilities and concentrate them in facilities for the enduring mission we have at Pantex.”
