WRPS seeks audit help to close books on Hanford tank work

By ExchangeMonitor

Amentum-led Washington River Protection Solutions, which recently completed its long run as tank farm contractor at the Department of Energy’s Hanford Site in Washington state, is looking for a subcontractor to help audit the books.

Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS), a joint venture of Amentum and Atkins, said in a federal procurement notice it is seeking a proposal for a Blanket Master Agreement to provide “WRPS Closeout Office Audit Support.”

For 15 years, WRPS was responsible for environmental management and risk reduction for 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical liquid waste remaining from plutonium production at the sprawling Hanford Site. In February, it turned over responsibility to BWX Technologies-led Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C).  Amentum and Fluor are also partners in H2C.

The work awarded to the winning bidder would run through the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30, with the option for a one-year renewal, according to the notice.

“Currently there are two indirect rate audits planned for FY25,” according to the notice posted  May 1. “Upon award to the successful Offeror, WRPS will immediately issue a request for firm fixed price proposals for both audits.” Responses to the notice are due May 13.
