Y-12/PANTEX RFP COULD COME THIS WEEK

Will this be the week the National Nuclear Security Administration releases the final Request for Proposals for its consolidated Y-12/Pantex management and operating contract? The Source Evaluation Board for the procurement released a preview of its proposed changes to the draft RFP Nov. 15 and said then that it “anticipates” the release of the final RFP in November, a schedule that would suggest that industry could get a look at the document by the end of the week. Among the changes proposed in the final RFP is an increase in the maximum available fee—to 7 percent of the Fiscal Year 2011 budgets at Pantex and Y-12, up from 6.4 percent—and the elimination of protective forces from the consolidated contract.
