Archer Daniels Midland Joins Global CCS Institute

By ExchangeMonitor

Archer Daniels Midland Co., developer of the Illinois Industrial CCS Project, has officially joined the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute, the institute announced Wednesday. “ADM has been a leader in CCS development for the past nine years at their corn-to-ethanol production facility in Decatur, Illinois, United States. It is a particularly exciting time as the Illinois Industrial CCS Project, led by ADM, will be both the world’s first bio-CCS project at large scale and the first integrated CCS project in the United States to inject CO2 into a deep saline formation at a scale of 1 [Million Tons Per Annum],” the institute said in a press release.

“Members are presented a valuable opportunity to be an integral part of a collaborative, informed and influential international community at the forefront of CCS advocacy, policy development and knowledge sharing,” according to the Global CCS Institute website.
