David Campbell is leaving Bechtel National for a senior management position at competitor Veolia Nuclear Solutions, Bechtel confirmed Wednesday.
Campbell, who had been with Bechtel since 2012, was most recently the company’s vice president for marketing and business development. His last day at Bechtel, where he focused on environmental cleanup and nuclear security, is Feb. 24, a company spokesperson said.
He will continue in a similar role at Veolia, where a spokesperson for that company said Campbell will be senior vice president for Veoilia Nuclear Solutions Federal Services.
Veolia, a Paris-based waste and water management specialist, has moved aggressively into the nuclear cleanup space lately. Last year, the multinational acquired Kurion, of Palo Alto, Calif., for $350 million in a bid to bolster the parent’s access to U.S. nuclear cleanup and decommissioning work. Kurion now falls under the Veolia Nuclear Solutions segment with two other of the parent’s holdings.
As part of its effort to rake in more nuclear-cleanup business, Veolia last year hired Billy Morrison away from Atkins to lead the former’s federal services group. Morrison subsequently enticed Campbell to come aboard, the source told Weapons Complex Monitor.
