Draft RFP issued for potential $90-million EM tech support contract

By ExchangeMonitor

The Department of Energy has started to shop for a small business to be the Technical Support Services contractor for Office of Environmental Management field sites.

DOE announced the draft request for proposal (RFP) for a potential five-year, $90-million contract on Thursday in a press release. The agency is shopping around for a small business, with no more than 1,000 employees, to provide technical support to Environmental Management field offices and sub-offices.

The winner of the eventual set-aside contract would be expected to provide technical support for quality assurance and safety management, tank waste strategy, regulatory compliance and developing intergovernmental stakeholder programs.

The agency will use industry input from the draft RFP, on issues such as barriers to competition, to help it put together a final RFP, according to the release.

“DOE does not intend to conduct a virtual pre-solicitation briefing for this procurement,” according to the cover letter on the draft solicitation. Industry feedback on the draft RFP is due by April 5.

There would be a 90-day transition period, according to procurement materials.
