A March 5 Energy Communities Alliance (ECA) webinar will focus on opportunities for co-locating waste storage and advanced nuclear fuel facilities within nuclear power sites.
In an online meeting description, ECA said co-location can reduce transportation risks, optimize infrastructure and allow for a more complete fuel cycle. The panelists, not yet announced, will discuss the possible co-location challenges such as safety oversight, waste classification and community consent.
ECA’s webinar, the fifth one in its winter series of webinars, will occur from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time on March 5.
