The Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management has begun searching for a new set of support contractors, yesterday issuing two sources sought notices for environmental technical and safety management expertise. In one notice, EM is seeking capability statements from small disadvantaged business concerns under the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program to provide technical expertise and support in areas such as D&D policy, procedures and technologies; waste analysis and disposal; nuclear material and spent nuclear fuel disposition planning and integration; groundwater and soil remediation and waste processing, among others. The other notice calls for capability statements from small disadvantaged business concerns under the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program to provide technical expertise and support in areas including quality assurance; safety oversight; safety integration and safety management; construction project reviews; safety performance analysis; and fire protection, among others.
DOE said in the notices that it anticipates the award of “one or more task order contracts” under the SBA’s 8(a) program for both types of support services. The planned contracts would replace those currently held by Project Enhancement Corporation and Link Technologies. Capability statements are to be submitted by Jan. 24.
