GemTech Nuclear Security Solutions has won a new professional and technical services contract with Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS), the management and operations contractor for the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas, the company announced last week.
The company, a joint venture of small businesses GEM Technologies, CS Engineering, Strata-G, and Spectra Tech, will offer professional support to the two National Nuclear Security Administration sites that includes nuclear and criticality safety engineers, scientists, safeguards and security specialists, radiological control technicians, according to the announcement.
Subcontractors Navarro Research and Engineering, ABS Consulting, Tetra Tech, Enercon, and Paschal Solutions also support the company’s work, it said.
“GEM has been supporting Y-12 for more than 20 years and Pantex for the past two years. We are committed to providing reliable, safe, secure, quality, cost-effective solutions and we look forward to partnering with CNS for the next 5 years to support their mission requirements,” Michael Evans, managing partner of GemTech NSS, said in a statement.
Further terms of the contract were not immediately disclosed.
