Hanford Advisory Board to Meet This Week

By ExchangeMonitor

The Hanford Advisory Board will meet Wednesday and Thursday for the first time since June. The meeting, previously scheduled for September, was delayed until Department of Energy officials in Washington, D.C., approved letters of appointment and reappointment for about half of the board’s members. Without the approval, the board did not have a quorum to conduct business.

Agenda items include a discussion by Department of Energy Hanford officials about the 45-day review of environmental cleanup operations ordered by James Owendoff after he was named acting assistant secretary of the DOE Office of Environmental Management in June. The board also will consider proposed advice on the Hanford Site budget and State of the Site meetings.

The Hanford Advisory Board meeting will be at the M Hotel in Richland, Wash., starting both days at 8:30 a.m.
