House appropriators are gearing up to hold hearings next week on Fiscal Year 2014 funding for the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management, as well as on how EM and the National Nuclear Security Administration oversee major projects. On March 19 at 10 a.m., DOE cleanup chief David Huizenga is scheduled to be the sole witness testifying before the House Appropriations Energy and Water Subcommittee on FY14 funding for EM. The next day, March 20, Huizenga is again scheduled to testify before the House energy spending panel at 10 a.m., though this time he is also set to be joined by NNSA Associate Administrator for Acquisition and Project Management Bob Raines; DOE Office of Acquisition and Project Management Director Paul Bosco; David Trimble, director of natural resources and environment issues for the Government Accountability Office; and Mike Ferguson, chief, Cost Engineering, at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Huntington District. Both hearings are set to be held in Room 2362-B of the Rayburn House Office Building.
