Interim Magnox chief executive becomes permanent boss

By ExchangeMonitor

The United Kingdom’s Nuclear Decommissioning Authority has appointed Rob Fletcher as the permanent CEO of Magnox Limited, the authority said in a recent press release.

Fletcher has been acting Magnox chief executive since May, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) said in the press release.

Fletcher permanently fills the vacancy created when Gwen Parry-Jones OBE left the Magnox helm to head Great British Nuclear, the country’s nuclear redevelopment organization.

“Rob is a hugely experienced nuclear professional and has already brought these skills to bear to drive Magnox as it decommissions some of the UK’s most complex nuclear plants and grows to take on its new missions,”NDA CEO David Peattie said in the release.

According to his biography, Fletcher is a 35-year nuclear professional who serves as an adviser to the nation’s Atomic Energy Authority’s fusion reactor program. He has held a number of executive-level jobs with Rolls-Royce and its nuclear business. Magnox, a subsidiary of NDA, is responsible for remediating a dozen nuclear sites.
