Here’s a look at the events we’ll be keeping an eye on this week:
- National Nuclear Security Administration Administrator Frank Klotz, weapons program chief Don Cook, nonproliferation chief Anne Harrington and Navy Adm. John Richardson, the director of Naval Nuclear Propulsion, will testify before the Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Room 138 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
- Klotz will be in Oak Ridge Thursday and Friday to celebrate the completion of two Y-12 projects. On Thursday, he’ll help mark the completion of the Nuclear Facilities Risk Reduction Project, and on Friday, he’ll help celebrate the conclusion of site preparation work on the Uranium Processing Facility, which officials said was completed $10 million under budget.
- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is holding its annual Regulatory Information Conference (RIC) this week, with all four commissioners scheduled to speak. The conference goes from March 10-12 at the Bethesda North Hotel and Conference Center across the street from the NRC Headquarters.
