NNSA officials will be back on Capitol Hill for another round of budget hearings this week. NNSA Administrator Tom D’Agostino, Defense Programs chief Don Cook and Naval Reactors chief Adm. Kirkland Donald will appear before the Senate Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday along with DOE-Environmental Management chief Dave Huizenga. The hearing will take place in Room 222 of the Russell Senate Office Building. Also of note this week:
- NNSA nonproliferation chief Anne Harrington will testify before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Oversight of Government Management Subcommittee on the status of the Administration’s efforts to secure nuclear materials around the world. Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation Tom Countryman, Principal Deputy Assistant Defense Secretary for Global Strategic Affairs Kenneth Handelman, the Government Accountability Office’s Gene Aloise, the Nuclear Threat Initiative’s Paige Stoutland and Ken Luongo from the Partnership for Global Security will also appear at the 2:30 p.m. hearing in Room 342 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
- This week both EnergySolutions and Perma-Fix will hold earnings calls to report on the fourth quarter and full year of 2011. Both companies will hold their calls Wednesday, March 14. EnergySolutions will hold its call at 10 a.m. EST, and Perma-Fix at 12 p.m. EST.
- The Nuclear Regulatory Commission this week will hold its 24th Annual Regulatory Information Conference, from March 13–15 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Agenda and other information can be found here.
