The last committee with jurisdiction over the NNSA and EM budgets will mark up legislation this week as the Senate Armed Services Committee and its various subcommittees will put their stamp on the Fiscal Year 2013 Defense Authorization Act starting Wednesday. The markup, which is closed to the public, could run through Friday morning. Also this week:

Defense Threat Reduction Agency Chief Ken Myers will speak Tuesday, Mark Schneider and Tom Scheber of the National Institute for Public Policy will speak Wednesday, and retired Air Force Gen. Larry Welch will speak Friday. Gen. William Chambers, the head of the Air Force’s nuclear mission, will speak at the Reserve Officers Association in Washington, D.C., at 8 a.m. Thursday.
  • The Environmental Management Site-Specific Advisory Board for the Savannah River Site will meet in Savannah, Ga., Monday and Tuesday at the Hilton Savannah DeSoto.
