- The House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee will hold a hearing at 11:30 a.m. Friday on the impact nuclear modernization programs in Russia and China could have on the United States. Former Pentagon official Mark Schneider, a senior analyst with the National Institute for Public Policy; Dean Cheng, a Research Fellow in the Asian Studies Center of the Heritage Foundation; and Richard Fisher Jr., a Senior Fellow at the International Assessment and Strategy Center will testify in Room 2212 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
- The Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future will hold a public meeting on Wednesday in Boston to hear public comment on its draft report. The meeting will be held from 8 am to 5 pm at the Harvard Medical School Conference Center.
- Mike McFaul, the Obama Administration’s nominee to be ambassador to Russia, will have his confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Wednesday in Room 419 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building. The time has not been announced.
- The Stimson Center’s Barry Blechman will give a talk on the “Next Steps in U.S./Russia Arms Control: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” at 8 a.m. Friday at the Capitol Hill Club.
