New Air Force Global Strike Command Deputy Nominated

Lt. Gen Anthony Cotton has been nominated to become the next deputy commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, serving under Commander Gen. Timothy Ray.

Cotton currently serves as the as commander and president of Air University, part of Air Education and Training Command at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. Prior to that assignment, he commanded the 20th Air Force, part of Air Force Global Strike Command and based at Francis E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo.

Global Strike Command, headquartered at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, was established in 2009. It encompasses over 33,000 personnel who operate the Air Force’s nuclear-armed bomber and ICBM forces, along with the service’s Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications.
