New weapons executive officer at Los Alamos

By ExchangeMonitor

Los Alamos National Laboratory appointed Evelyn Mullen executive officer for weapons, the New Mexico nuclear-weapons design laboratory announced Monday.

In her new role, Mullen will be an “executive leader in the organization, with a focus on both tactical and strategic operational needs,” according to Los Alamos’ press release. She will report to Robert Webster, the lab’s deputy director for weapons.

Mullen was most recently chief operating officer in the lab’s Global Security, Weapons and Operations directorate. She has held other positions, including associate director for threat identification and response.

Mullen has been at Los Alamos since 1992 and holds masters and bachelors degrees in nuclear engineering from Texas A&M University: one of the three senior partners on the lab’s management and operations contractor, Triad National Security.
