It’s shaping up to be a busy week on Capitol Hill for the National Nuclear Security Administration. Led by acting NNSA Administrator Neile Miller and nonproliferation chief Anne Harrington, senior agency officials will testify before the House Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee at 1 p.m. Tuesday on the agency’s nonproliferation and nuclear reactors program. Miller will be back on the Hill at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to testify before the House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee to address the agency’s contractor assurance system and response to the Y-12 National Security Complex security breach. Also testifying will be Deputy Energy Secretary Daniel Poneman, DOE Inspector General Gregory Friedman, former Air Force Assistant Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration Maj. Gen. Donald Alston, and former NNSA Principal Assistant Deputy Administrator for Military Applications Brig. Gen. Sandra Finan.
