The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will hold a fiscal 2027 budget hearing to discuss the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s request Wednesday morning.
The hearing will be held in Room 406 in the Senate Dirksen Office Building at 10 a.m. Eastern time. All five of the NRC commissioners will be testifying before the full Senate panel to talk about licensing and regulatory activities regarding the agency’s budget request.
Donald Trump’s White House has requested $892.3 million for NRC for fiscal 2027. This represents a 8.1% or $79.1 million decrease from the fiscal 2026 enacted budget of $971.4 million.
