After the Department of Energy earlier this week released a draft workforce restructuring plan for the Savannah River Site, site management-and-operations contractor Savannah River Nuclear Solutions told employees yesterday that it is not planning any workforce changes. “I wanted to assure you that SRNS has no workforce restructuring request pending with DOE, and no workforce restructuring plan under development at this time,” SRNS President Dwayne Wilson said in a message to employees yesterday. “DOE’s planning guidance is consistent with how past activities within SRNS have been carried out. Any plan we submit in the future, should there be a need, would be consistent with this DOE guidance.” The new plan from DOE did not mention any specific proposed workforce changes and instead outlined the processes for any restructuring. The plan is currently open for public comment until July 22.
