Here are some events related to civilian nuclear matters that Exchange Monitor staff are tracking this week.

17: Public meeting, comment gathering, Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff: to clarify or supplement the March 4, 2024, 10 CFR 2.206 petition regarding a seismically initiated severe accident at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant. 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Members of the public may watch the proceedings online. Editor’s note: environmental groups on March 4 petitioned the NRC to shut down Diablo Canyon due to “unacceptable risk of seismic core damage accident.”

17: Hybrid meeting: The Nevada Environmental Site Specific Advisory Board meeting via hybrid session from the  Molasky Corporate Center, 15th Floor Conference Room, 100 North City Parkway, Las Vegas, Nevada 89106. NEW: Via public records request, I’ve been able to confirm reporting today that a warrant has been issued for DOE deputy asst. secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition Sam Brinton for another luggage theft, this time at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid airport. (cc: @EMPublications)
