UCOR CANCELS LANDFILLS MANAGEMENT PROCUREMENT

Oak Ridge cleanup contractor URS-CH2M Oak Ridge, LLC, has called off a planned procurement for a subcontract to manage the site’s main landfills. In a brief message sent to prequalified bidders last week, UCOR said it made a “business decision” to self-perform the work beginning in early April, providing no further explanation as to why the procurement was canceled. The planned subcontract was intended to manage Oak Ridge’s Environmental Management Waste Management Facility and other site sanitary and industrial landfills. The subcontract was set to run for up to five years.
