UPDATE: NNSA Pulls Nevada Site M&O Contract Award

By ExchangeMonitor

The National Nuclear Security Administration on Wednesday said it was rescinding the management and operations contract award announced just last week for the Nevada National Security Site.

The agency had previously told Weapons Complex Morning Briefing it was re-evaluating the contract issued to Nevada Site Science Support and Technologies Corp. (NVS3T) upon learning that the firm had changed hands from Lockheed Martin to Leidos.

From the NNSA on Wednesday:

“NVS3T did not notify the NNSA contracting officer of the change in ownership and control as required by the request for proposal.  This change in ownership raises substantial questions about the information in the NVS3T proposal, which could significantly impact the evaluation of the proposal and award decision.

“Accordingly, NNSA has decided to rescind the award to NVS3T.  This allows the current procurement action to continue.  In the interest of fairness, NNSA will reconsider all offers previously received in response to the request for proposals.”

The contract has been valued at up to $5 billion over 10 years, including all options.

Current contractor National Security Technologies — a partnership of Northrop Grumman, AECOM, CH2M, and BWX Technologies — will remain on the job until performance starts on the new contract, the NNSA said.
