This Week: Nuclear Waste and Weapons Events

Here are some public events related to defense- and civilian-nuclear matters that the ExchangeMonitor staff is tracking this week. Because many offices will be closed after Wednesday for the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, the Monitor has also included some events scheduled for next week.

November

24 – Jacobs fourth quarter earnings call. Corporate leadership scheduled to brief investors on latest results. Call scheduled for 10 a.m. Eastern time, streaming from Jacobs’ website.

December

1 – Arms Control Association Annual Meeting. Virtual. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Rose Gottemoeller (former deputy secretary general of NATO, former assistant secretary for arms control, verification, and compliance) scheduled to speak. 12:30 p.m. – 3:10 p.m. Eastern time. Registration is free.

2-3 – U.S. Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board, Fall 2020 board meeting. The board will review the U.S. Department of Energy’s non-site-specific geologic disposal research and development program. Remote access information will become available here in the next few days. 12:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. Eastern time each day.

NEW: Via public records request, I’ve been able to confirm reporting today that a warrant has been issued for DOE deputy asst. secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition Sam Brinton for another luggage theft, this time at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid airport. (cc: @EMPublications)
