WEST VALLEY CLEANUP CONTRACTOR TO RESUBMIT BASELINE MONDAY

By ExchangeMonitor

West Valley Demonstration Project cleanup contractor CH2M Hill B&W West Valley plans to resubmit its baseline to the Department of Energy next week after issues emerged with the baseline it submitted in late December. “After reconsideration, CH2M HILL B&W, together with DOE, decided to retract the original submission in order to made modifications and improve the quality of the final product,” CHBWV spokeswoman Lynette Bennett said in a written response. Last week the company had representatives from the corporate offices of parent companies CH2M HILL, B&W and ECC come to the site for a two-day ‘red team review’ of the latest draft and offer recommendations. The final document is scheduled to be submitted to DOE on Monday. CHBWV was awarded the cleanup contract for the site in July, taking over the contract from West Valley Environmental Services.
